Jade is a qualified <a data-start=\"467\" data-end=\"559\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_new\" class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reefoceanlab.org.au\/resources\/what-marine-biologists-do\/\">marine biologist<\/a>, so we can assure you that you will leave our tours with as much (or as little) information about the marine life as you would like.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"731\" data-end=\"761\" class=\"\">Why Humpbacks Love Augusta<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"763\" data-end=\"1436\" class=\"\">Every winter, <span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\"><strong data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"19\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">humpback whales<\/strong><\/span> travel from Antarctica to northern Australia to breed and give birth. <span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem] transition-colors duration-100 ease-in-out\"><a href=\"https:\/\/naturalistecharters.dilatevps1.cloudsites.net.au\/old\/augusta-whale-watching\/\" data-start=\"2\" data-end=\"71\" data-is-only-node=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_new\">Augusta<\/a><\/span> is one of the first places they stop during this journey. The sheltered waters around Flinders Bay provide ideal resting grounds for humpbacks before continuing north. These whales are well known for their acrobatics, including breaching, tail slaps, and pectoral waving. They often approach the vessel, offering breathtaking close encounters during our Augusta whale watching tours.
